Pokémon Monomyth Save Files

Pokémon Monomyth is a free ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald by Team Monomyth, set in the Athanto region and released on October 30, 2026. The save rule that trading depends on is simple: the battery file shares the ROM’s name.

The rule that is official

On the link page, a ROM named PokemonMonomyth.gba expects PokemonMonomyth.sav in the same directory. Case and extra spaces matter. Other emulators may write .srm. Rename the extension for the trade, then rename it back.

Damage stories from one community guide

pokemonmonomyth.com lists cloud-sync clashes, snapshot overwrites, and a bad import as ways a save goes missing. That is one site’s checklist, not Team Monomyth. The same page points at mGBA’s own note about keeping ROMs outside Program Files on Windows. I would write down the player name, the town, and the party before I trust a moved file.

Questions

What should the save be called?

Same folder and same base name as the ROM. PokemonMonomyth.gba sits next to PokemonMonomyth.sav.

What about .srm files?

The link page says you can rename .srm to .sav for a Celio Link trade, then rename it back for the other emulator.

Where does Pizza Boy store the save?

I have no official path for Android or iOS. I am leaving those cells empty rather than guessing a folder.
