Desktop: choose mGBA, or keep the right RetroArch core

For a straightforward desktop choice, follow the mGBA link supplied by Team Monomyth. Open the patched .gba rather than the BPS download. If you plan to use Celio Link, read the trading setup before choosing a build: the official instructions use a special mGBA client plus its bundled Lua script. A normal emulator opening the game is a different claim from that client connecting to a trade session.

If you already use RetroArch, select mGBA as the GBA core, then load the patched content with that core. RetroArch is the frontend name; a different installed GBA core does not inherit the mGBA listing. NanoBoyAdvance releases are the other PC option linked by the official page. Choose a release for your operating system when one is provided; the Monomyth page does not certify every operating-system build or any online-trading route for NanoBoyAdvance.

iPhone and iPad: three official routes

The official page links Manic EMU and explicitly says to select mGBA instead of VBA-M in its settings. Do that core check before importing the patched game. This is the closest officially listed choice for someone who wants an app interface similar to Delta. Keep a backup of an existing save before changing emulators; installing a different app does not itself transfer another app’s save.

For the browser route, open SkyEmu in Safari and use Add to Home Screen, as the official guide instructs. The third option is the linked iOS RetroArch app with mGBA selected. Team Monomyth notes reported frustration with mobile RetroArch and recommends trying the other options first. That is its setup advice, not a measured claim that one emulator runs faster. Delta remains on the unsupported list.

Android: Pizza Boy first, alternatives labeled clearly

Follow the official Pizza Boy store link and import or select the patched .gba through the emulator’s file interface. Team Monomyth says both Basic and Pro work, so its compatibility guidance does not require buying Pro. Menu wording and file permissions can vary by app version; choose the folder containing your output instead of relying on an undocumented fixed Android path.

If that interface does not suit you, the official alternative is Android RetroArch with mGBA. Lemuroid is an additional community-reported choice, kept separate from official support in the matrix. Neither that report nor the Android download list establishes Celio Link support. MyBoy and John GBA are listed as incompatible; changing a game file’s extension will not resolve a core compatibility problem.

Real hardware and saves

The official project names Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Micro hardware. HeldGames separately describes a flash cart with full 32 MiB capacity and RTC support; that cart requirement is one publisher’s guidance, not an independently reproduced specification. For physical trades, the official link page requires two flash carts and a GBA Link Cable, and says the Wireless Adapter is incompatible. Follow the save-file guide when moving progress to a PC: the official Celio instructions place the save beside the ROM with a matching base name.

Questions

Does Delta run Pokémon Monomyth?

Team Monomyth lists Delta as unsupported. On iOS it instead lists Manic EMU with the mGBA core, SkyEmu and RetroArch with the mGBA core.

Which PC emulator trades online?

The download page says mGBA is the only PC emulator confirmed for Online Link Trade, and the trade client is the Celio Edition build.

Pizza Boy looks dated. What else is there on Android?

The official Android alternative is RetroArch with its mGBA core. Lemuroid is also community-reported; SkyEmu is listed in the official iOS section, not its Android list.
